  I visited this Halfords today to buy a new battery for my Fiesta because it had failed to start earlier that day and RAC had advised a new battery after running a diagnostic. I walked in and was met with a member of staff who looked and spoke as if he'd rather be anywhere else but there. He informed me there were 2 options, £83 for a battery including fitting with 3 years warranty, or £110 for the same but 5 years warranty. I chose the former. After paying, the staff member stared at me and sighed heavily before he mentioned he needed to "fetch his toolbag" then walked off. I waited just outside of the shop in order to direct him to my car. He didn't look happy to be dealing with me and seemed rather annoyed even though I had given him no reason to be. After popping the bonnet for him, he began to remove the nuts holding the old battery in the car. He informed me after 30 seconds of trying that he could not remove one of the nuts holding the old battery in the car with his wrench and that it was threaded. When I asked him if it would be possible to try with some pliers, he was quick to make excuses with regard to how that is against company policy and how "it needs to go to a garage and have the nut cut off and we don't do that" I told him I would try but he stopped me again saying "We don't sell those nuts anyway so you wouldn't be able to replace it here" even though it looked like a standard nut you'd buy from Wilko. He then began to walk off back towards the shop. I quickly shouted after him and asked if I could have my fitting fee back seeing as he didn't fit it, which seemed to jog his memory that that was what I had paid for. I chased him back into the shop after grabbing my receipt from the car and noticing he'd walked off (again). After getting back into the shop, he began to talk to his colleague about how he was going to go on his break after refunding me, completely ignoring the fact that I was stood right in front of him. He refunded me £15 and wandered off (for the 3rd time) and I shouted if that was all and if I could leave. He took a backward glance and just muttered "yeah" and kept walking. As for as customer service goes, this place has none. Unless you're after something really basic (that you could probably find cheaper on eBay) avoid this place. This was my first time visiting this Halfords and i can honestly say I will never give them my business again. A note to you Halfords, at least try and give your staff a little bit of customer service training, because today I experienced nothing but contempt.
